    I was introduced to Thomas Merton while majoring in Sociology in the 1970's I suppose being somewhat familiar with him is helpful but not entirely necessary I received the book as a Goodreads giveaway and while this review is a very personal one I recommend the book The conflicts with his Abbot James Fox brought out insight and creativity I
